You have received an email and you are concerned that it may be a Phishing email. What do you do?
Is it a Threat, Spam, or Clean? We use these three security terms to identify each email. Let's look at how to identify each one.
QUICKLINK BUTTONS:
Is it a Threat?
Threat emails are ones that are trying to trick you into clicking on something, trying to get you send them private or personal information such as usernames and password, or get you to send funds. Please check out the graphics below:
If you have reviewed the email and think it may be a threat PAB it! Using the Phish Alert Button will remove it from your inbox and send it to the IT team via PhishER which allows us to analyze it and scan the rest of the company email boxes for similar emails and quarantine them. The PAB button is located in your Outlook Desktop App, Outlook Web APP, and Outlook Mobile App.

Is it Spam?
Spam emails are generally trying to sell you something. Advertisements, Requests for donations, Requests to join groups or email list, ect. Spam emails should be reported as Junk by using the junk button in your Outlook.

Is it Clean?
Clean emails are just that - clean, legitimate emails from trusted senders that you know to not be a threat.
What if I am still unsure which one my email is? When in doubt, PAB it out! If you use the PAB button and we determine it is not a threat we can send it back to you for you to action. Better safe than sorry!
