As there is a finite amount of local disk space on any PC, sometimes a little "spring cleaning" may be in order to allow your PC to function properly. Though most of the data you access may be kept on network drives or in the cloud, often there are temporary files or files that are no longer needed hanging around that clutter up storage space needed to allow your system to function. Here are some simple steps you can take to free up some space and allow your system to function again ............
1. Delete any unnecessary files in your Downloads folder. As we work more and more in the cloud, we often download files we need and then forget that they are left in this directory. Delete what you don't need (or move them to a safe network drive such as your personal U-Drive).
2. Delete any unnecessary files from your Desktop. Often the desktop is used for quick access and/or a working area for temporary files - remember to clean it off from time to time. Delete what you don't need (or move them to a safe network drive such as your personal U-Drive).
3. Delete any unnecessary files from your Documents folder. Again, move them to a safe network drive such as your personal U-Drive if need be.
4. Delete any unnecessary files from your Pictures folder. Again, move them to a safe network drive such as your personal U-Drive if need be.
5. Delete any unnecessary files from your Music folder. Again, move them to a safe network drive such as your personal U-Drive if need be.
6. When you're all finished - be sure to right click on the Recycle Bin and empty it.
Make a note to perform these steps as often as possible !!!!
