These directions assume you have a SmartPhone attached to AoA e-mail and that your Outlook Contacts are setup to synchronize. If this is not the case, you can simply add the “Auto Call” record manually on your mobile phone.
- Open Outlook
- Proceed to the Contacts portion of the app – choosing to create a new Contact:
- Complete the new Contact record as shown on the following page …….
Note: The IMPORTANT portion of the new contact record is the Phone Number field. The Full Name and/or Company field can be called whatever you like. However, if you choose to name the record with an underscore (as shown in the example on the following page), the record will be displayed at the beginning of your Outlook’s contact list.
4. Complete the phone field EXACTLY as shown above – being sure to correctly replace the “XXXX” and “ZZZZ” placeholders with your office phone extension and Mitel voicemail password, respectively.
Note: The commas in the phone field are essential! Each comma represents a 2-second pause which allows for the ShoreTel auto-attendant to present the next command. The “#” signs are used to positively respond to the prompts provided by the auto-attendant.
5. Save the record
6. Lastly, test the new entry once the record is synched to your SmartPhone.
